"Tōhai - Ura Rate Mahjong Tōhairoku" Manga Gets TV Anime Adaptati

Pony Canyon has announced that Kōji Shinasaka's manga "Tōhai - Ura Route Mahjong Tōhairoku" will receive a television anime adaptation titled "Tōhai - Ura Rate Mahjong Tōhairoku" set to debut this year. Directed by Jun Hatori at EAST FISH STUDIO, the series features Mariko Kunisawa overseeing scripts, character design by Sayaka Anesaki, and music composition by Yūsuke Shirato and Yuki Kishida. The anime explores the world of underground mahjong and the enigmatic high school boy known as 'K of Ice.' The manga, serialized from 2006 to 2011, consists of 12 volumes.

Attack on Titan won the Astra Award for Best Streaming Animated Series at the Hollywood Creative Alliance awards. Hayao Miyazaki received the Astra Award for Best International Filmmaker. The anime's finale premiered on November 4, Crunchyroll and Hulu streamed it. Linked Horizon performed the theme song. Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Parts 1 and 2 are streaming in Japan. Part 1 aired on March 3, and Toonami aired it on September 9. The finale is 85 minutes long. The anime originally premiered on NHK in December 2020, with Funimation and Crunchyroll streaming it with English subtitles. Toonami and Funimation also aired an English dub.

TV Tokyo Triumphs: Court Victory Against Counterfeit Naruto Merchandise

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois ruled in favor of TV Tokyo Corporation in a trademark infringement lawsuit related to counterfeit Naruto merchandise. The court issued a default judgment against 301 defendants accused of trademark infringement, counterfeiting, false designation of origin, and violation of trade practices. The judgment orders the defendants to cease using Naruto trademarks, pay TV Tokyo $50,000 each, and requires domain name registries and registrars to disable the defendants' domain names. TV Tokyo has filed 16 similar cases, winning all closed cases against counterfeit Naruto merchandise in the Northern District of Illinois.

Miyazaki's Masterpiece: Award-Winning 'The Boy and the Heron' Tops U.S. Box Office, Breaks Records

Hayao Miyazaki received the Astra Award for Best International Filmmaker from the Hollywood Creative Alliance. His film, "The Boy and the Heron," won Best Motion Picture - Animated at the 81st Golden Globes. The film also won Best Animated Film at the Alliance of Women Film Journalists and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards. Joe Hisaishi, the film's composer, received a nomination for Best Original Score at the Golden Globes. The Academy has shortlisted Hisaishi for the 2024 Oscars. The film topped the U.S. box office and is the first original anime production to do so. It's also the first Studio Ghibli film with a simultaneous IMAX release, featuring music by Kenshi Yonezu. In Japan, it became the #71 highest-grossing film and the third highest-grossing domestic film in 2023.
