OSHI NO KO
Oshi no Ko Anime Updates

Oshi no Ko's first 90-minute episode "Mother and Children" will have revival screenings in Japan from June 7-20, including a Dolby Cinema version. Additionally, the second season's premiere episode will receive an advanced screening in Japan starting June 30. The first season celebrated its one-year anniversary on April 12, while the second season is slated for a July debut, with HIDIVE streaming it.

Crunchyroll Acquires Theatrical Rights for Anime Films

Crunchyroll has secured North American and select international theatrical rights for Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle, Blue Lock The Movie -Episode Nagi-, and Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom. Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle premieres in theaters on May 31 in the U.S., Canada, and U.K., with earlier releases on May 30 in Australia, Brazil, and Mexico among others. Naruto Creator Not on Social Media

The official Naruto accounts clarified that Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, does not use any social media platforms. This statement was made to clear up confusion caused by a parody account with a verified check mark, which could mislead fans into thinking it's really Kishimoto. Despite the parody account mentioning it's not the real Kishimoto, the official statement was needed to avoid misinformation about the creator's online presence.

Freebies at Indian Comic Cons

At the upcoming Mumbai Comic Con (April 20-21), all attendees will receive a free copy of the first Dragon Ball Z manga volume in their goodie bag. Previously, Crunchyroll hosted quizzes and gave away merchandise like Jujutsu Kaisen cards, Spy x Family masks, and Solo Leveling posters at Delhi and Bengaluru Comic Cons. Additionally, Manga Planet India distributed free copies of the first chapter of India Calling Me Now manga at the Bengaluru event.

CHOCOLATE INC / KILLTUBE
CHOCOLATE Inc.'s First Anime Film "KILLTUBE"

Japanese company CHOCOLATE Inc. has unveiled plans for its debut anime film project, titled "KILLTUBE," targeting a 90-minute worldwide release in spring 2026. A "pilot film" with an "Edo punk" theme premiered, depicting an isolated, feudal Tokyo where social mobility relies on streamed duel battles. The story follows an unlikely trio from the lowest class as they uncover truths behind the KILLTUBE system while aiming for the top through public battles.

FAIRY TAIL
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Anime Visual

The official website for the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime, based on the sequel manga by Hiro Mashima and Atsuo Ueda, unveiled a new visual showcasing the main characters' anime designs. The television anime adaptation is slated to premiere in July.

Azuki's "Enter The Garden" Anime Anthology

Azuki and Dentsu are launching a three-part anime anthology "Enter The Garden." The first part, "The Waiting Man," debuts April 30 and follows skater Haru meeting a mysterious waiting man T.K. Goro Taniguchi is the creative producer. A trailer and visual were unveiled.

Netflix Reveals City Hunter Live-Action Film's Trailer & Cast

Netflix unveiled the English-subtitled full trailer and new key art for the live-action City Hunter film adaptation on April 8 (unofficially "Get Wild" Day). The streaming platform also announced three additional cast members for the movie based on Tsukasa Hōjō's iconic manga. Read more


WWWave's 4 New Anime Adaptations Yearly From 2025

WWWave Corporation will release 4 new anime adaptations of other publishers' manga annually from 2025, fully producing them under its Deregula animation label. It plans to announce the first title by year-end, expanding beyond adapting its own manga due to high anime demand.

Crunchyroll Streams Mysterious Disappearances Anime

Crunchyroll is streaming the Mysterious Disappearances (Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi) anime adaptation of Nujima's manga for the spring season. The series streams worldwide, except Japan and China, on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. EDT. It premiered on Wednesday after a special online screening in Japan on March 10. Read more


The Grimm Variations Manga Adaptation

Kodansha's Magazine Pocket announced that Kōji Megumi (Bloody Monday) will adapt the upcoming Wit Studio and CLAMP anime series The Grimm Variations into a manga, debuting on the service on April 17. The six-part anime, based on Grimm's Fairy Tales, will also premiere on Netflix the same day.
