My Hero Academia: 'You're Next' Movie Trailer Unveils New Era of Hero Society!
Exciting news for My Hero Academia fans! The upcoming movie, "My Hero Academia: You're Next," just released its first trailer. The focus is on Deku leading Hero Society into a new era after All Might's retirement. The trailer showcases new footage, featuring Izuku and Class 1-A facing a new villain orchestrating a major threat. HAIKYUU!
Haikyuu's Grand Finale - 'Decisive Battle' Movies and Exciting Surprises!
Exciting news for Haikyuu fans! The anime is concluding with two final movies, starting with "Decisive Battle at The Garbage Dump," releasing next month. Unexpectedly, the series opted for movies instead of Season 5. Manga readers get a bonus treat with a new chapter celebrating the movie. A fresh trailer teases the final showdown, and though there's no sequel news, the spin-off, Haikyu-bu, continues with new chapters, keeping the Haikyuu universe alive.

Spice and Wolf Anime Reboot: 2nd Trailer Unveiled
Spice and Wolf's New Anime Reboot Unveils 2nd Trailer for April Premiere. Animated by Passione, the project features the return of the original cast. Chief director Takeo Takahashi, director Hijiri Sanpei, and Kevin Penkin handling the music. The light novel series, spanning 22 volumes, was written by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Jyuu Ayakura. The first season aired in Winter 2008, followed by OVAs and a second season in 2009. Yen Press holds the license for the original series and its ongoing sequel, 'Wolf and Parchment.'

New Dragon Ball Daima Anime: Trailer
Toei Animation unveils Dragon Ball Daima anime with a fall 2024 release. New trailer highlights Goku, voiced by Masako Nozawa. Directed by Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki, with character designs adapted by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. Yuuko Kakihara supervises scripts, and Akira Toriyama is credited for the story. The series features a unique plot where Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and others become younger, distinct from Dragon Ball GT. The original Dragon Ball Super series aired from 2015 to 2018, with the recent Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film in June 2022.

HINAKO ASHIHARA
Manga Creator Hinako Ashihara Found Dead
Manga creator Hinako Ashihara, 50, was found dead in an apparent suicide, as reported by NTV News on Monday. She was reported missing a day earlier and discovered in Tochigi prefecture. A note was found.
In a January 26 blog post, Ashihara expressed dissatisfaction with the live-action adaptation of her Sexy Tanaka-san manga, citing NTV's failure to maintain faithfulness to the original work. Despite her complaints, the first seven episodes remained largely faithful. She ended up writing the scripts for the final two episodes due to significant changes.
The live-action series aired from October 22 to December 24, consistently earning high ratings. NTV stated it had consulted with Ashihara through Shogakukan, and she had approved the final script. Ashihara's manga career began in 1994, with notable works like Sand Chronicles, SOS, Forbidden Dance, and Piece - Kanojo no Kioku. Her passing is a loss to the manga community.

GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM
Gundam Seed FREEDOM Anime Film Breaks Records
Shochiku announced that Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM anime film has set a new record in its first three days, selling 634,182 tickets, grossing approximately US$7.20 million. This marks the highest three-day opening in the Gundam franchise and the biggest opening weekend in Japan for 2024. The film is set to screen in 56 countries, and those attending until February 8 will receive a booklet featuring character and mech design settings. The previous record-holder was Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, and the all-time highest-grossing Gundam film remains the 1982 Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Faces Fan Backlash
Dragon Ball DAIMA, set for Fall 2024, faces fan backlash due to its resemblance to Dragon Ball GT. Fans express disappointment with the concept of Goku and friends turning into children, reminiscent of GT's narrative. Akio Iyoku's promotional statement inadvertently highlights the disliked plot point. Fans had hoped for a return of Dragon Ball Super, resulting in disappointment. The creators' attempt to provide a nostalgic experience is met with criticism, questioning the need for a new series instead of a remake or remaster.

NUKITASHI
Nukitashi: Novel Receives Anime Adaptation - Coming Soon!
Qruppo's adult visual novel 'Nukitashi' gets green-lit for an anime adaptation, teased as 'C**ming Soon.' The game, known for its eccentric narrative, won Best Scenario and Best New Brand at the 2018 Moe Game Awards. A sequel, 'Nukitashi 2,' is set for release this year. The manga adaptation has been serialized since 2020 in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine.
